Equipment and methods
CGS’s state-of-the-art equipment is used to carry out specific work and to design, programs and carry out campaigns which respond to a great variety of objectives.
CGS uses geophysical methods in both surface and drilling programs for hydrological studies on the search for and characterization of aquifers, salinization control and monitoring, flow measures, water quality and borehole porosity. In geotechnical studies, geophysical methods are applied to collection control, elastic moduli measurements from boreholes, detecting faults, coating control and altered layers.
In mining research, CGS uses geophysical methods to detect deep coal layers and to research mineral masses, batholiths and deep saline bodies. In geological studies, geophysical methods provide data regarding geological structures and the physical properties of the rocks.
In surface operations
Distribution of the rock types and their physical properties in the subsoil through the use of:
Seismic tests, electric tomography, vertical electrical soundings, electric test pits, electromagnetic soundings, induced polarization, magnetometry, radiometry, magnetotelluric and georadar.
In borehole operations
Determining the physical and chemical properties of the rocks and fluids crossed in boreholes and locating aquifer levels through geophysical testing with digital equipment equipped with multiple probes for borehole measurement, angel and orientation, conductivity, temperature, full sonic wave, resistivity, acoustic televiewer, etc...
